Judge rules past sexual assault claims can be used against former MSU player

LANSING - Evidence alleging prior sexual assault accusations against Auston Robertson will be allowed in the case against the former Michigan State football player who is facing trial for rape in Ingham County.

Two previous alleged accusations against Robertson - including a rape claim in 2014 - and a portion of a third, were approved to be admitted into evidence by Ingham County Circuit Court judge Clinton Canady during a motion hearing on Wednesday morning.

Robertson, 20, is facing two counts of third-degree sexual assault - punishable by up to 15 years in prison - stemming from an alleged rape in April 2017 in Meridian Township.
