After eight seasons with the Chicago Bears, Matt Forte’s time has come to an end. The veteran running back has been informed by the Bears that they will not be extended a contract offer this offseason to try and bring him back.

Chicago released a statement on Friday afternoon pertaining to the matter:
“We recently met with Matt to inform him we will not extend a contract offer for the 2016 season,” Bears general manager Ryan Pace said.
