Jay Johnson considers himself “a Big Ten person at heart.”
He also understands the task at hand: Fix the offensive issues that have plagued Michigan State football the past two seasons.
It starts up front for the Spartans’ new offensive coordinator. He believes his offensive linemen should be strong yet athletic. He calls tight ends “the MVP of what we do offensively.” He wants to be able to throw the ball and run it whenever MSU needs either.
