Earlier this week, Michigan State basketball posted its final roster ahead of the 2025-26 season as well as each newcomer's jersey number.
Guys like Divine Ugochukwu, Trey Fort, Cam Ward, and Jordan Scott all received their new numbers with Michigan State, and none of them replaced Tre Holloman's No. 5. The junior point guard entered the transfer portal after three seasons with the Spartans and decided to head to NC State to finish his college hoops career.
For the first time since the 2021-22 season, Michigan State doesn't have anyone wearing that No. 5, and it's the first real opportunity for the program to retire it.
