East Lansing — Michigan State found out on Monday afternoon that it was named the preseason No. 1 team in the nation.
By Monday night, that feeling of excitement had been dashed when it was confirmed that senior guard Joshua Langford would be out until at least January as he suffered a setback in his return from an ankle injury that kept him out the bulk of last season.
“It breaks my heart,” Michigan State coach Tom Izzo said. “I love Josh Langford. He's given me everything on the court, off the court, in the classroom.
