On Friday, for the 20th consecutive season, Michigan State will begin play in the NCAA Tournament. All of those appearances are under Tom Izzo, who has racked up seven Final Fours and a national championship.

1. Mateen Cleaves' mind over matter
The Spartans point guard did his best Willis Reed impersonation in the 2000 national championship game against Florida, rolling his ankle and retreating to the locker room early in the second half, then hobbling back after a quick re-tape to lead MSU to its second national title.
