Give Michigan State football's Mel Tucker credit for accomplishing this major feat

At this time last year, Michigan State football’s roster was in upheaval.

Names were deleted from the roll as a slew of top contributors left the program to relaunch their college careers elsewhere.

Linebacker Brandon Bouyer-Randle kick-started the exodus in late September and the conga line of defectors kept moving through October, November and December.

As the Spartans slogged to a 7-6 record in the final season of Mark Dantonio’s coaching tenure, the Spartans bid farewell to seven scholarship members of their team.

“It just sort of is what it is,” Dantonio said then.
