Former MSU president Lou Anna Simon set to speak at Nassar-inspired U.S. Senate hearing

Sen. Moran Questions FBI Director Wray on Olympic Abuse Investigation

After Michigan State University officials' $500 million settlement with victims of former sports medicine doctor Larry Nassar, it's onto the next hurdle for the embattled school - answering to Congress.

Former MSU President Lou Anna Simon accepted an invitation to speak at a U.S. Senate's Subcommittee on Consumer Protection, Product Safety, Insurance, and Data Security hearing, per a spokesperson for Subcommittee Chair Jerry Moran, R-Kansas.

The hearing was initially scheduled for May 22, but will be rescheduled to a date in early June because former USA Gymnastics President Steve Penny and Marta Karolyi declined invitations to appear, the spokesperson said.
