The Michigan State basketball program is used to housing Hal Schram Mr. Basketball winners. Fifteen of them have joined the Spartans since the award began in 1981, including six of the last 10.
Given to the state's top senior as voted by the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan, future Michigan State point guard Foster Loyer of Clarkston became the latest to receive the honor when he won the vote in March.
However, BCAM recently added another Mr. Basketball winner to the Michigan State list as Detroit Pershing's Ralph Simpson was named Retro Mr. Basketball for 1968 on Friday last week.
