If Ryan Brehm was nervous, he sure didn’t show it on the course Friday during the second round of the Rocket Mortgage Classic.
From making four birdies in his first nine holes, bombing a drive 344 yards into a greenside bunker and even making a tricky 3-foot par putt on the 18th hole that led to the gallery erupting in applause, the former Michigan State golfer looked like the picture of calm on his way to shooting himself into contention with a 5-under-par 67.
That put him at 6-under 138 for the tournament and in a tie for 21st, four strokes behind co-leaders Joaquin Niemann and Tom Lewis.
