Former Michigan State football player Auston Robertson accepts plea deal in rape case

LANSING - Former Michigan State football player Auston Robertson accepted a plea deal stemming from a rape allegation last year.

Robertson pleaded guilty to criminal sexual conduct, assault with intent to commit sexual penetration during a pre-trial hearing in Ingham County Circuit Court in Lansing on Wednesday. In exchange, two charges of third-degree criminal sexual conduct are scheduled to be dropped when he is sentenced on Dec. 4.

Judge Clinton Canady III indicated via a Cobbs agreement the recommended sentence will be 43 months in prison and Robertson will be credited with about seven months of time already served.
