East Lansing — Mike Garland leaned back in his chair courtside at the Breslin Center, slowly working over the chewing gum in his mouth and paused ever so briefly.
“It was a heck of a journey, man,” he said, trying to put in perspective the ride he and his family have taken for the better part of the last two years.
