In April, Bob Quinn was championing Connor Cook as a quarterback with "immense talent."

On Monday, Quinn showed Cook the door.

The Detroit Lions waived Cook, the former Michigan State standout, on Monday and signed David Fales to be their No. 3 quarterback for training camp.

Cook signed a futures deal with the Lions in January in hopes of resurrecting his career, but he spent all spring as the third quarterback on the depth chart behind Matthew Stafford and Tom Savage.
