Dave Warner says Michigan State's offense is nowhere close to its potential

EAST LANSING - Four games represent one-third of a season and a decent sample size to evaluate.

It is also enough for Michigan State co-offensive coordinator Dave Warner to recognize unmet expectations.

"The word potential has been out there since January and we certainly haven't reached that yet, certainly haven't come anywhere close to that," Warner said Wednesday afternoon. "We talk about what we're capable of as an offense and I think we all know that we haven't gotten there yet."

Center Brian Allen was the only offensive starter Michigan State lost from last season's 10-3 team, but the unit hasn't showed a marked improvement.
