Confidence adjustment helps MSU's Kalon Gervin play like 'baddest man on the field'

From the moment Mel Tucker was hired as Michigan State’s coach, he’s been harping on the process.

From learning how to go about day-to-day business to building a program back into a championship contender, the first year coach has been hammering the same message.

“We’re really focused on the process,” Tucker said just before the season began a little more than two weeks ago. “The day-to-day process, in terms of developing our team, developing our culture, connecting with our players, and hammering that process and working our process daily.”

That approach appears to be working.

While it didn’t seem that way after a season-opening loss at home to Rutgers, things started to make more sense in week two when a nearly flawless effort – a week after turning the ball over seven times – led to the upset of Michigan.
