EAST LANSING -- Bill Beekman has signed a five-year contract to be Michigan State's new athletic director and will be receiving a raise compared to his predecessor.
Beekman signed a five-year contract on Tuesday that will run through July, 2023 and pay him an annual base salary of $750,000.
According to the contract, released on Wednesday by Michigan State, Beekman is also eligible for up to $100,000 per year in performance bonuses. Those bonuses will be tied to compliance, athlete academic performance and financial goals.
Beekman was confirmed in his new role on Tuesday by Michigan State's Board of Trustees after serving in the role on an interim basis since early February.
