The gritty Spartans showed up on Saturday night at the Breslin Center. Michigan State took care of No. 14 Arkansas in one of the more thrilling early-season games thus far, 69-66.
Michigan State was tougher, smarter, and ultimately just much peskier than Arkansas, leading to the three-point win (which probably should’ve been more like 8-9). Arkansas’ young stars played well, but still shot under 50 percent from the floor, but one of its veterans, Trevon Brazile, seemed to be rattled almost from the get-go.
Brazile picked up two early fouls and played just eight first-half minutes.
