This past week was a nightmare for Michigan State football.
The Spartans came to an agreement with the NCAA that would put them on probation for three years, vacate all the wins from 2022-2024, and reduce some recruiting visits and contacts. It was a harsh punishment for a program whose former head coach was responsible for playing ineligible players, and one rolled over into the first year of Jonathan Smith, without him knowing.
Michigan State then lost on Saturday to a Penn State team that was also 0-6 in Big Ten play, falling to 3-7 on the season.
