For much of the past decade, Miami has been a program that's continually knocked on the proverbial door, but with 10 NCAA tourney appearances in the past dozen years — including a pair of Frozen Fours and the promise, certainly, of many more — the RedHawks are still looking to effectively knock that door down.
Last season, Miami fell to eventual champion Providence in the NCAA quarterfinal round, in a dramatic contest that saw the RedHawks storm back from a 6-2 deficit, scoring three extra-attacker goals in the third period before an empty-net goal by the Friars closed out a 7-5 game.
