Realmuto sparks comeback as Marlins win third in a row

Usually it’s Giancarlo Stanton crushing baseballs to the deepest parts of Marlins Park.

On Friday night, it was J.T. Realmuto’s turn.

Realmuto sent one soaring toward the left field scoreboard that put the Marlins ahead for good in a 7-4 victory over the Reds.

Realmuto drove an 87 miles per hour changeup from reliever Wandy Peralta 411 feet for a solo home run that broke a 3-3 tie in the seventh.

The Marlins (48-53) scored four runs in the inning and secured their third consecutive victory and sixth in their past eight games.

Realmuto has hit four homers in his past six games and set a new career-high with his 12th home run of the season.
