The Miami Marlins still need a power source in the middle of the lineup. There should be a few bats available in free agency. One of them, Manny Machado would make sense given that he has ties to the baseball community in south Florida. But signing him to a deal would go against what the organization has been preaching since Derek Jeter took over the team.
Sorry, guys. Machado will not be part of the team next season.
The cost may be too much and also may draw the ire of fans who still want to see Giancarlo Stanton, Marcell Ozuna, and Christian Yelich roaming the outfield at Marlins Park.
