Lukas Schiraldi was part of the bounty the Miami Marlins received from the Seattle Mariners for David Phelps at the 2017 trading deadline, along with now major leaguer Pablo Lopez, recently released Brandon Miller, and CF Brayan Hernandez. Initially a 15th rounder in the 2014 draft, the major league legacy (father Calvin pitched for eight major league seasons) has been sent from the double-A Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp in the Southern League to the high-A Jupiter Hammerheads in the Florida State League.
