O’Brien, a first baseman originally out of Hialeah, FL, was acquired by the Miami Marlins from the Los Angeles Dodgers for cash on June 1st. In 43 games with the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, he slashed .215/.345/.514 with 28 walks, 13 homers and 31 RBI. He was promoted to the New Orleans Baby Cakes on Tuesday, and collected a pinch-hit single in his first triple-A plate appearance with Miami.
