Miami Marlins Season in Review: Igor Baez

Igor Leonard Baez is a 6’1″, 214 lb. catcher from Orlando, Florida. Born on June 6th, 1995, he was signed through free agency by the Miami Marlins on August 16th, 2017.

Baez played Division II NCAA ball for Flagler College before getting selected in 2017. In 55 games, he slashed out a .297/.358/.438 line with seven home runs and 41 RBI of Peach League action. After his draft, he reported to the rookie-level GCL Marlins, in the Florida-based Gulf Coast League. He only appeared in one game, a 4-2 victory against the GCL Nationals. Baez went 0-for-2 with a walk and a strikeout.
