After the Miami Marlins were blistered in an 18-4 loss to the Washington Nationals on Saturday night, the ball club got off the ground and earned a 10-2 win at Nationals Park on Sunday.
The win helps Miami avoid being swept in a series to their National League East rival.
Miami is 37-55 this season.
The Marlins proved they did not need the long ball to beat the Nationals as 20 of the team’s 22 hits came on singles. Catcher J.T. Realmuto, hoping to be named to the N.L. All-Star Game, had five hits on the day.
