MIA 3, ATL 5: Pen Shovels Load in Finale

In what would be the 19th and final meeting between the Marlins and Braves this season, two teams headed in opposite directions, Sunday would see Miami handing the ball to Edward Cabrera.

The 23-year old, making just his fourth career Major League start, would get his first look at the first-place Atlanta Braves.

Unfortunately, Cabrera’s introduction to the Atlanta bats would be cut short as a toe injury would force the right-hander to an early exit after just 3.2 innings. In his injury-shortened outing, Cabrera allowed 2 runs on 3 hits, walking 3, and striking out 4.
