Before Jordan Yamamoto took the mound on Tuesday night and delivered one of the best performances of the season for any Miami Marlins pitcher, it was announced that Caleb Smith took another step toward rejoining the team’s rotation.
Smith has been on the I.L. with inflammation in his right hip, but according to reports, his return is closer to becoming a reality.
“Continuing his rehab process at the Marlins’ complex in Jupiter, Fla., Smith threw a bullpen session, his first time off the mound since going on the 10-day injured list on June 7,” Joe Frisaro of MLB.
