The Miami Marlins minor league pitching depth isn’t limited to Triple-A New Orleans and Jacksonville on the Double-A level. The Clinton LumberKings have announced starter Chris Vallimont has been named the Midwest League Pitcher of the Week for May 20-26.
The LumberKings are in their first season as the team’s minor league affiliate as the organization ended its relationship with the Greensboro Grasshoppers at the end of the 2018 season.
As Erik Oas of the LumberKings media relations department wrote, “Vallimont has been stellar in his appearances this season, “throwing 13 innings, not allowing an earned run, and surrendering just one hit.
