The Washington Nationals have frustrated the Miami Marlins over the past week, sweeping them in Miami during their June 25-27 series. Then, in the opener of a three-game set at Nationals Park on Tuesday night, Trea Turner split the gap for a double off lefty Jose Quijada with two down in the home half of the ninth, bringing home Yan Gomes and with him a 3-2 win.
Miami’s July briefly got off to a wonderful start, as Miguel Rojas, Harold Ramirez and Garrett Cooper produced three consecutive singles against lefty Patrick Corbin, making his third start of the season against the Fish.
