Marlins News: The reason for optimism in Miami

Trevor Richards had yet another quality start for the Miami Marlins and once again, he was on the losing end of another outing. The Marlins fell to the New York Mets, 6-4, which gave Richards his first loss of the season. It wasn’t for a lack of effort.

The Marlins ran into Jacob deGrom, who pitched a gem in his second start of the season and helped himself at the plate with a home run of his own.

“On a night when Richards posted his second quality start of the year, deGrom scattered three hits and struck out a career-high 14 in seven innings,” Joe Frisaro of MLB.
