Marlins majority owner Bruce Sherman said he's in for the long haul | Miami Herald

Marlins majority owner Bruce Sherman said he knows that some of the trades made during the winter have been unpopular, but that he and his investment partners have supported every one of them.

“From my perspective, I think the management team has made all the right moves,” said Sherman just before the Marlins took the field Monday for the team’s first full-squad workout of spring training.

It marked only the second time that Sherman has spoken publicly about the Marlins since his investment group acquired the franchise for $1.2 billion.

Since then, the Marlins have made a number of high-profile trades involving many of the team’s best players, including Giancarlo Stanton, Marcell Ozuna, Dee Gordon and Christian Yelich.
