Marlins looking to make a Cuban splash this offseason

The Miami Marlins are on the verge of acquiring Cuban phenom Victor Victor Mesa and his younger brother Victor Mesa Jr. The older sibling is considered the top international prospect in the major leagues as he displays star potential.

The 22-year-old is a superb outfielder with exceptional speed and power who has played in Cuba’s top league. In fact, in 2016-17 as a 20-year-old for his Matanzas team, he hit .354 with 7 home runs, 44 RBI’s and a whopping 40 stolen bases in 50 attempts.

As Baseball America’s Ben Badler states, “Victor Victor is the best young Cuban prospect to become available since Yoan Moncada”.
