J.T. Realmuto’s walk-off double avoids more extra innings, lifts Marlins to win over Mets

This time, the Marlins made sure they wouldn’t have to play past midnight.

J.T. Realmuto’s walk-off double to right center field scored Miguel Rojas and delivered a 3-2 Marlins victory over the Mets.

It was Realmuto’s first career walk-off hit and avoided the Marlins and Mets going to extra innings less than 24 hours after the teams played a five-hour, 38-minute, 16-inning game into the early hours of Friday morning.

Rojas and Dee Gordon each recorded their third hits in the game.
