The last time the Miami Marlins or their fans saw Garrett Cooper in the lineup was March 31, the second game of the 2019 season. The right fielder suffered a calf injury that has placed him on the injured reserve list. Now, after extensive rehab and a stint in Jupiter, the 28-year-old is nearing a return to the Majors. It’s a move that can’t come soon enough for him or the team.
“When he shows he is healthy and able to play two, three, four days in a row, then we have to make a decision,” Marlins manager Don Mattingly said in a story that appears on MLB.
