Garrett Cooper keeps the Marlins streak alive

There is a reason why the Miami Marlins continued to have faith in Garrett Cooper despite injuries that took the majority of his 2018 season and away and hurt the start to 2019.

On Thursday afternoon, for the second time in as many days, the outfielder delivered a home run to help the Marlins come from behind to beat the Detroit Tigers. This time it was a grand slam in the ninth inning that helped preserve a six-game winning streak and gave Miami it’s second series sweep in as many attempts.

“Cooper connected on a two-out grand slam in the ninth inning off Shane Greene that propelled the Marlins to a 5-2 comeback victory on Thursday afternoon and a three-game sweep of the Tigers at Comerica Park,” Joe Frisaro writes.
