Elieser Hernandez was taken out of the Miami vs. Toronto game in the third inning on Tuesday. He appeared to have aggravated a blister on his pitching hand after firing ball three to Cavan Biggio leading off the inning.
Hernandez had surrendered a run on two hits through his two innings of work, with a walk and a pair of whiffs. Josh A. Smith replaced him on the mound, inheriting a 3-0 count facing Biggio, who was already one-for-one in the game.
Initially a rule 5 draft selection by the Marlins in 2017 from the Houston Astros, Hernandez is in his third full season with Miami.
