The hosting Braves sent out Kevin Gausman, who was more than equal to the task of shutting down the Miami Marlins. The 6’3″ righty struck out seven and allowed only two hits in seven innings.
The Miami Marlins racked up a grand total of three base hits. A double by Martin Prado and singles from Brian Anderson and JT Riddle. Although they also drew four walks, they struck out 10 times in the game. Curtis Granderson whiffed three times, while Peter O’Brien and Jorge Alfaro waved twice each.
