ATL 5, MIA 0; Acuña plunked by Marlins for seventh time, lives to tell about it

The fourth time was the charm for Charlie Morton against the Marlins. After posting mediocre results in each of his previous meetings with the Fish this season, the veteran right-hander quieted their bats on Friday night in a wire-to-wire Braves win.

Morton (7.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 7 K, 31.6 CSW%) had higher velocity than usual on all of his pitches, according to Baseball Savant. In addition to succeeding with his signature curveball, the 37-year-old got nasty armside run on his sinker and induced silly-looking swings with occasional changeups.
