Adam Conley has been a changed pitcher since his return.
On Saturday night, Conley delivered his third quality start in a row since his two-month banishment to the minors and helped the Marlins secure a 7-3 home victory over the Reds.
Conley gave up a solo homer to Joey Votto in the first inning and another to Adam Duvall in the fourth.
That was the extent of the damage he yielded over 7 2/3 innings in which he struck out seven, walked two and allowed five hits.
Conley pitched his longest start since June 22 of last season when he threw eight innings at home against the Braves and it was the third longest start by any Marlins starter this season behind Edinson Volquez’s no-hitter on June 3rd and Dan Straily’s 8 1/3-inning start July 7th in San Francisco.
