The Miami Marlins have acquired lefty pitcher Chris Reed from the Dodgers in exchange for fellow lefty Grant Dayton, the team announced. Reed had recently been designated for assignment by Los Angeles.
Reed is a former first-round pick who was the rated the 10th overall prospect in the L.A. system by Baseball America, and figures to work out of the bullpen for the Marlins.
However, he has struggled this year as Reed has more walks than strikeouts and ihas a 5.97 ERA.
