It has been over twenty years since the Miami Hurricanes last won a national championship (2001). The Hurricanes have wallowed in mediocrity and sub-par seasons according to the program's own winning standard. Gone are the swaggering ways former players would act under previous coaching regimes. Lean times are what most programs encounter after years of dominance.
Let's face it. Many Miami Hurricane teams have not been able to enjoy the same caliber of success they experienced in the 1980s through early 2000s due to lack of on-the-field productivity, as well as inner turmoil within the program.
