STOCK UP: Defense. There is no doubt that the defense has been the victorious aggressor during the first two scrimmages. The defense was especially dominant during Saturday’s scrimmage vs. the run holding the offense to an abysmal 1.1 yards a carry.
Manny Diaz’s defense has amassed 15 sacks in 2 scrimmages. (Richt estimated eight or more sacks during the initial scrimmage) There is no doubt that the return to the 4-3 one gap system is accentuating the athleticism and promoting disruption along the front.
