Two Former Miami Hurricanes Added to Butch Davis’ FIU Staff

Beard joins the Golden Panthers staff after a season as the Offensive Quality Control Coach of Wide Receivers in Kirby Smart’s first season as Head Coach at Georgia. Smart succeeded current Miami Head Coach Mark Richt as the Head Coach of the Bulldogs.

Beard spent two seasons on the Hurricanes staff under Al Golden and Larry Scott. He was the Hurricanes’ assistant director of football operations in 2014 and the Wide Receivers coach in 2015. Before coaching at UM, Beard was an assistant at University High School in Davie.

Beard played for the Hurricanes from 1999-2003. He had his best season as a sophomore for the 2001 National Champions.
