Thompson Named Louisville Slugger All-American

CORAL GABLES, Fla. –University of Miami junior slugger David Thompson was recognized for his outstanding season with Louisville Slugger All-America first-team honors fromCollegiate Baseball Newspaper,announced Thursday by the publication.

Thompson, the nation’s leader in RBI (80) and tied for the nation lead in home runs (19), was a critical member of a Miami offense that finished the regular season ranked first in runs scored and runs per game.

Thompson led Miami in nearly every offensive category, including home runs, RBI, doubles (16), total bases (151) and slugging percentage (.783). The Miami native was one of just three players to start all 58 games in 2015, helping power the Hurricanes to a 44-14 overall record and their second straight ACC Coastal Division crown.
