The eye-opening numbers on how UM did when it spread the field Saturday

u25aa If you ever wondered what the Hurricanes would look like if they went to a spread offense for an extended stretch, we got a look in the second half of the Virginia game, when injuries to Brevin Jordan and Will Mallory left Miami without a single healthy scholarship tight end.

And the results were quite promising.

Per Miami Herald correspondent Daniel Gould, UM averaged 7.2 yards per play on 33 plays after Mallory joined Jordan on the sideline, compared with 3.7 yards per play before that time.
