Tate Martell finally gets first chance for Miami football team

Tate Martell received his first significant playing time at quarterback for the Miami football team this season. Martell did carry the ball twice in the wildcat against Florida in the season opener. The Ohio State transfer had a shaky opening series.

Martell completed his only attempt on the opening series to graduate transfer, K.J. Osborn, for seven yards and a first down on third and four from the Miami 15. Martell looked to run often and didn’t seem fully aware of what was needed.

On one play Martell could have easily thrown the ball away and took a one-yard loss out of bounds.
