CORAL GABLES — Frank Gore rushed for 1,945 yards and 17 touchdowns over parts of three seasons with the Miami Hurricanes before going on to a pro career that will almost certainly get him enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
His son, Frank Gore Jr., will return to his father’s old stomping grounds as he and the rest of the Southern Miss football team come to Miami to face the No. 15 Hurricanes at Hard Rock Stadium at noon Saturday.
“Obviously, his dad’s a legend who’s been here,” defensive lineman Akheem Mesidor said.
