Presidential campaigns, now all virtual, try to engage Florida voters

As the nation stayed at home and the economy shut down, the presidential campaigns and political parties — like every segment of society — were forced to fully transform to campaign techniques that four years ago were just one part of a comprehensive strategy.

Now, with the 2020 election a little more than six months away, the campaigns of President Donald Trump and Democrat Joe Biden, and the Republican and Democratic parties that support them, are fully virtual.

They’re all about video conference apps and technology that connects volunteers with potential supporters through voice calls and text messages.
