Manny Diaz took a cue from his former boss and ex-Hurricanes quarterback Mark Richt in involving former Miami football players to create The New Miami. Richt created the U Network for former Miami football players to network and find jobs if needed.
The U Network is just part of what Richt and now Diaz have done to include former Miami football players in the current Hurricanes football program. The two most recent Hurricanes football head coaches have frequently spoken out about the importance of using the success of the past to create the culture for the future.
