‘No flinching’ — Hurricanes move past loss to focus on Middle Tennessee State

Three games into his tenure in Coral Gables, Mario Cristobal endured his first loss as the Hurricanes’ coach.

The veteran coach, who previously led FIU and Oregon, said the defeat may have stung a bit more, coaching at his alma mater. But Miami can start putting that sting behind it by looking sharp when the No. 25 Hurricanes (2-1) face Middle Tennessee State at Hard Rock Stadium at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.

“Losing a game, for myself, personally ... it doesn’t get any more difficult than that,” Cristobal said, “especially when you [coach] at a place that you [played] at, it probably hits a million times harder.
